I've sadly come to terms that the two Danes that basically started Valinor have to be retired. Isis and Axel, the ones that made us fall in love with the gentle giants Danes are.
Axel was purchased at 6 months old and was raised alone until he was a year. Which was when we bought Isis. The two grew up and old together, and have always been close. Although a litter was never had between these two they surely acted as if they were truly meant for each other. Isis would never leave Axel's side, and when we purchased our black Dane Griz, Axel became more protective over Isis.
Isis started growing lame over the past few months, which Axel has noticed and isnt dealing well with it. She's having problems standing and getting up from laying down. It completely breaks my heart to see her like this. It also break's Axels as well...We can totally tell.
Valinor's I Am Machine and Valinor's I Rock The River, the two that started my passion for dogs, will live out the rest of their day's together in the quiet yards of the kennel.
